Everything went off without a hitch. Better parking, better setup, better organization. After ten years of doing this we're finally starting to figure it out!

The Whole Nine Years

Jordan had his friends sleep over after his birthday party. Man, you're getting big, Buddy. Rain and I sat by the fire and just listened for a while. The things they come up with are something else. As they say, boys will be boys.

Damn good party if I do say so myself. Food was excellent, fireworks rocked, and the keg was just about kicked.

Super Bowl XLVII

Ravens 34, 49ers 31. Crab cake sliders and shrimp, I could have that everyday. So when Beyonce was done with the halftime show, Jordan quips, "That oughta get 'em fired up." Indeed.

Moved it to the weekend this year (and from now on). A lot more people were able to make it which was great. Hope everyone had as good of a time as we did. See ya next year!

Super Bowl XLVI

G-men! 21 - 17 over the Pats, it was a great game. Madonna at the half was pretty mediocre. Ready for next year!

Had a good time, as always. The fireworks were a lot bigger than last year, but I needed more fillers. From now on it's going to be on the weekend, it sucks when everyone has to work the next day. Already planning for next year.

Dang, that was a good one even though we lost. Oh well, at least I got to make Primanti Brothers sandwiches. Yum.

This year's party was one of the best! I know I say that every year but it's true. It gets better each year, period. It's always a good time catching up with people you rarely get to see. The food was great, as always, and the company and conversation were second to none. The fireworks were truly excellent this year (except for the one that fell over on it's last two shots - oops!). I could tell from the displays and the reactions that I picked some winners, especially the 'triple shot' one. Almost everyone commented on that one (mental note: get more of those next year). Barring a few minor mishaps (which were interesting, to say the least) and even more ideas for improvement, I'd call it a success. Thanks to everyone who helped out and hope you had as much fun as we did. See you next year!

Super Bowl XLII Party

This year's Super Bowl Party was pretty fun. Lorraine and I borrowed a deep fryer and went to town making blooming onions, taquitos and hot wings. Again, there was more than enough food and the drinks were plentiful, so let's get to the game. It was played on February 3, 2008 at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona between the (NFC) New York Giants (10-6) and the (AFC) New England Patriots (16-0). The Giants won 17-14 in what is sure to be considered the greatest upset in Super Bowl history. Another year, another Manning Super Bowl win; this time by Eli. Those boys sure know how to play. Jordin Sparks performed the National Anthem and halftime was performed by Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers. The best performance though was Alicia Keys in the pregame. Paula Abdul needs to give it up, that performance was "absolutely dreadful". See you at the next one.

July 4th Party

Awesome. For the most part as it rained most of the day. All in all half of the people still came out. Pre-cooking and lining the cooler with foil worked out much better as I had more time to drink socialize. The fireworks went off without a hitch, thanks for the help Todd (got a little captain in ya?). Hopefully it will be a nicer day next year, but at least this time it will be on a Friday. Yeah! Super Bowl XLI Party

Had a Super Bowl Party yesterday, February 4, 2007. It was the (AFC) Indianapolis Colts (12-4) vs the (NFC) Chicago Bears (13-3) at Dolphin Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The Colts won 29-17, glad to see Peyton Manning win, he deserves it. The ads were sparse this year, certainly not the best. Billy Joel sang the National Anthem and Prince performed at halftime. Everyone had a good time and a lot to eat. Good enough. See you next year, hopefully with the Steelers.
